LIGHTING WORKSHOP

With

Kevin Terrell, Gavin Ash, Kris A. Truini

The aim of the workshop is to craft several lighting set ups of the same scene and explore how that can create mood and tell different stories through lighting. The three chapters will explore different looks and techniques, starting from using just one light, then two, then three or more.

NIGHT SCENE WITH ONE LIGHT

In this episode we explore how create a realistic and cinematic night scene with just using one light. By bouncing light in different ways you can create different dramatic looks that can get you to the film look and style that you desire while still working within the limitations of using only one light.

NIGHT SCENE WITH ONE LIGHT

You can create a dramatic scene that still feels cinematic in many different ways.

Kevin Terrell will walk us through how to create the drama and telling the story with the right mood. The conversation between the gaffer and the dp is crucial and we will see glimpses of that collaboration with Gavin Ash to build the scene.
